The Domestic Violence Prevention Center (DVPC) was founded when the YWCA merged with the Phyllis Wheatley YWCA in 1978.  The primary feature of the DVPC is the VSDVAA certified shelter, located in a confidential and secure location.  The DVPC is the YW's largest program and helps women in Central Virginia recover from abuse, resolve personal conflicts, improve self-esteem, and begin a new life.

The DVPC is a 32-bed facility to house women and children in crisis.  It provides food, shelter and any assistance necessary to its families.  For more information click here, or call (434) 528-1041.

Hours of Operation
The DVPC is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
