YWCA Holds Second Annual Philanthropic Bride Challenge – A Giving Heart

LYNCHBURG, VA--- In an effort to continue combining philanthropy and fashion in the community, the YWCA of Central Virginia’s Church Street Bridal Shop is holding its second annual Philanthropic Bride Challenge – A giving heart.  The challenge, created to recognize and award a deserving bride-to-be that gives back to her community, is open for nominations until March 19, 2011.

To nominate a philanthropic bride, write an essay or letter (500 words or less) about how she has positively impacted her community.  Essays or letters may be faxed to 434-528-3449, e-mailed to Michelle Duncan at mduncanywca@yahoo.com with the subject line that says, “Philanthropic Bride” or mailed to the YWCA of Central Virginia, 626 Church Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504.  Winners will be announced at the Purse&Passion Fundraiser Luncheon on April 1, 2011.  For more information on the rules of this challenge, go to www.ywca.org/centralvirginia or call the YWCA at (434) 847-7751.

Proceeds from Church Street Bridal support the YWCA’s programs: Domestic Violence Prevention Center, housing for women, Ygyrl Leaders Mentoring and Racial Justice.  The YWCA has been serving the Central Virginia community since 1912 and is a United Way partner agency.
