Take Action

Speak up NOW about these two issues being addressed in the U.S. Congress.

The Tax Proposal

The Tax Proposal currently being debated provides significant, PERMANENT tax breaks for the wealthiest, and decreases or eliminates many current deductions which help middle and lower income constituents. Phone calls to legislators are critical.

Net Neutrality

Congress is deciding by December 14th whether to roll back the provisions that allow equitable access to network content. Network Neutrality is usually defined as the principle that internet service providers (ISPs) should treat all online content equally without blocking or slowing down specific websites on purpose or allowing companies to pay for preferential treatment.

The consequences of such a rollback would be particularly devastating for marginalized communities, which many media outlets have misrepresented or failed to serve. People of color, the LGBTQ community, indigenous peoples and religious minorities in the US rely on the open internet to organize, to access economic and educational opportunities, and to fight back against systemic discrimination.
