Summer STEAM Camps

Spend your summer with YWCA Mahoning Valley! We offer a series of summer camps for children and youth focused on immersive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) education.

GUTS! Girls Using Tools

in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Mahoning Valley

Girls will learn everything they need to know to build a shed and help complete work on a Habitat for Humanity house. Girls will learn valuable skills in handling tools, taking measurements, reading blueprints, and estimating materials costs, all while being on-site at a Habitat House in Struthers.

 YoCan Camp

in partnership with SMARTS and the Mahoning Valley Historical Society

This program will teach children about media, marketing, design, and art using advertisements specific to Youngstown dating all the way back to the 1940s! They’ll learn from local marketing and design professionals and artists to create their own posters, digital media, and theatrical performances.

 Young Artists Camp

in partnership with SOAP Gallery

Come experience hand-building with clay! Students will learn the basics of clay, how it is made, and practice techniques for creating all sorts of items from cups and bowls to 3D sculptures! At the end of the week students’ work will be on display in the gallery for family and friends to view.

 Stop—Hip Hop

Students will learn basic hip hop moves and a choreographed hip hop dance that they will performed for families at the end of the week. Lunch is included for students enrolled in both Young Artists and Stop—Hip Hop.
