The Graduates / Los Graduados

Join WHYY for a special screening of student work inspired by the ITVS Community Cinema documentary, The Graduates / Los Graduados by Bernardo Ruiz.The documentary explores the many roots of the Latino dropout crisis through the eyes of six inspiring young students from across the United States who are part of an on-going effort to increase graduation rates for a growing Latino population.

Students from Esperanza Academy Charter High School in Philadelphia participated in a companion project to produce their own first-person, short-format documentaries inspired by The Graduates / Los Graduados. Light refreshments will be served.
