2018 Accounting Specialist Training
This course is designed for all accounting personnel who wish to hone their skills as well as new accounting personnel with less than one year tenure.
This course will include how BSA accounting differs from other non-profit organization accounting as well as for-profit corporations. Course participants will learn daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions which should be performed. Reconciliation of asset, liability, and bank accounts will be reviewed in-depth.
Other items to be included:
- Fund accounting
- Deferred revenues and expenses
- Classification of contributions - unrestricted, temporarily restricted, permanently restricted
- Researching and correcting transactions
Note: While some discussion of PeopleSoft software will be included, this is not a PeopleSoft training.
This course could also be appropriate for local council and area volunteers.
The deadline for registration is three weeks before each session.
The fee for this course is $750.00 which includes lodging (based on double-occupancy) for Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Marriott Solana in Westlake Texas, meals beginning with dinner on Tuesday through lunch on Thursday. Course fee does not include transportation cost.
