Hunger Banquets - An Interactive Experience of the Inequities of the World’s Food Supply
A World Neighbors Hunger Banquet is a powerful experience in which guests will be filled with a greater understanding of global hunger. The purpose of a Hunger Banquet is to raise awareness of world hunger through activities, stories and a unique dining experience. Each participant has the opportunity to experience life through the eyes of marginalized people in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Though few guests will leave with full stomachs, all will leave with a greater sense of the inequality of food distribution around the world. Hunger banquets are used by many organizations as a teaching tool to raise awareness of issues of hunger, poverty, justice and development needs.
