Dear Richmond Families,
It is my pleasure to invite you to the University of Richmond’s 2009 Family Weekend. I hope you will be able to will join us on campus for what will certainly be a memorable weekend for you and your family.This is a wonderful time to share your children’s Richmond experience with them and to explore some of the activities they enjoy as Richmond students.
On both Friday and Saturday, the University’s outstanding faculty and staff will be conducting lectures and leading panel discussions on many topics, including choosing a major, careers, housing and the very popular study abroad programs. I encourage you and your student to take full advantage of these sessions whether you are the parent of a freshman or a senior.
Family Weekend is also a wonderful time to socialize and celebrate Richmond with the hundreds of families visiting the campus. Don’t miss the Dean’s Picnic on Saturday where you will have the opportunity to mingle with other families as well as your student’s deans and professors. I also hope to see everyone in the Greek Theater that night for the a cappella concert. Bring your blanket and relax with new and old friends at this Family Weekend tradition.
Please make sure to register by September 18, and remember to make your hotel reservations early. Your Welcome Packet, including event tickets, will be available for you to pick up in the Jepson Alumni Center when you arrive on campus. I look forward to seeing you on October 2!
