 The Children’s Act for Responsible Employment (CARE Act) would update US law to ensure that all working children are protected equally. Please contact your Congressional Representative to ask them to co-sponsor this important bill.  The International Olympic Committee is currently not equipped to deal with human rights violations committed by host countries. Please support the creation of an IOC standing committee on human rights, to help set and apply human rights standards for potential Olympic hosts.  Tell President Obama that you support the landmine ban and want to see the United States join the Mine Ban Treaty without delay.  Urge your Members of Congress to support and co-sponsor the bipartisan Justice for Survivors of Sexual Assault Act of 2009.  It’s urgent that you tell your senators that women should not have to wait any longer for ratification and that now is the time for the Senate to move forward on the single most important treaty for women’s rights around the globe.  Contact Attorney General Eric Holder and urge him to initiate a full-scale and open-ended criminal investigation.  Please call on President Medvedev to ensure a comprehensive, independent, and transparent investigation into the murder of Natalia Estemirova.  Ask your senator and representative to co-sponsor the International Violence Against Women Act (I-VAWA), a major step in the effort to end violence against women and girls across the globe. |
