Spirit of Goodwill Radiothon

On November 7th, WYCB hosted a radiothon live from Goodwill of Greater Washington's headquarters in Northeast Washington, DC to generate donations and pledges on the air.

1st Annual Goodwill Fashion Show & Gala (2005)

Goodwill of Greater Washington would like to thank everyone that helped make The Fashion of Goodwill, 1 st Annual Runway Show & Gala a HUGE success. We had over 400 guests and raised over $100,000 to fund our job training and employment programs for the disadvantaged and disabled.

Encounter Volunteer Group (2005)

For a whole week, a great group of volunteers from the ENCOUNTER program came out to our new DC store to assist!

Car Wash (2005)

On Saturday June 18th, volunteers in MD, DC, and VA all gathered to wash cars to raise money for Goodwill of Greater Washington!

Servathon (2005)

Nearly 2,000 volunteers from DC, Maryland and Virginia joined together to volunteer at Servathon 2005, one of the region's largest community service events!

A group of dedicated volunteers came out to help out Goodwill on May 21st at the annual SERVATHON event put on by Greater DC Cares. They assisted in our retail stores and even held a car wash to raise money for Goodwill!

For Sisters Only Event (2005)

Goodwill of Greater Washington was proud to be a part of the Radio One FOR SISTERS ONLY event on Saturday June 4th at the Washington Convention Center. This event attracts around 25,000 African American women and families in the metro area. We sold clothes, jewelry and house wares at our booth, as well as educated the public about our mission and training programs.

Deloitte Impact Day (2005)

On Friday June 3rd, employees from Deloitte held their annual IMPACT DAY at two of our Goodwill sites!

They helped in our retail stores, donation centers, and our administrative offices all day! Some volunteers even braved the rainy weather and helped plant flowers in our courtyard!

Many thanks to the many Deloitte employees who donated their time and services to us on IMPACT DAY!

Taste of Arlington (2005)

Community Residences, Inc. presented Taste of Arlington, the largest one-day street festival venue in Arlington, Virginia. Taste of Arlington features fine food, a fine dining pavilion, family and children's activities including a mobile rainforest and planetarium by the National Science Foundation, a Kid's Zone with moon bounce and activities, live entertainment, dancing in the streets, vendor fair, Best of the Best Contest, and much, much more!!!

Goodwill of Greater Washington was proud to provide the cleaning services for this year's Taste of Arlington event on Sunday May 15th from 12 - 5 PM next to Ballston Common Mall (4238 Wilson Blvd.) in Arlington, VA.

We set up our booth where we handed out information about Goodwill, played games, and painted hair for the afternoon! Special thanks goes out to all my volunteers who helped out for the day!

Grand Opening of new DC Store! (2005)

Goodwill of Greater Washington held the Grand Opening of its new DC store on Saturday May 7th from noon - 4 PM! There was a moon bounce, a clown, refreshments and discounts all day! MAJIC 102.3-FM came out from 1-3 PM and played music and games for attendees!
