New Member-Ordeal registration
Note: You are strongly advised to read this entire document before moving to the online
registration form. We also strongly suggest that you print this document, keep it, and refer to it
often, up until the time you have completed your ordeal, and become a member of Mikanakawa Lodge.

I. Registering for an Ordeal:
Congratulations: You have been selected as a candidate for the Brotherhood of
Cheerful Service and your journey in the Order of the Arrow has just begun. To take your
Ordeal and become a member in our Order, you must complete this registration process. You
arrived at this page after you made a selection from our “events” page. You had several
choices. As of today, the following Ordeals are available. If an Ordeal has reached maximum
capacity, you will be blocked from registering. If this happens, select another date.
Spring Ordeal – (March, 2010) will be held at Camp Wisdom.
The maximum number of candidates for this ordeal is 250. In the "Registration section of our website, Print & Pay registration is available now. On line Registration will be available in November, 2009.
Spring Chapter Ordeal - (May, 2010) A Chapter Ordeal means there is more than one
location, and a local Chapters run the event. For May, 2009 we will be at Camp Cherokee, Camp Constantin and Camp James Ray. The maximum number of candidates for each location is 200. The site you attend depends on the District/Chapter of your unit. A list will at the bottom of this document, under section IX. It’s time to register, here, you will be directed to the correct registration form. In the "Registration section of our website, Print & Pay registration is available now. On line Registration will be available in November, 2009.
Summer Ordeal - (August 2010) At Camp Constantin. The maximum number of candidates for this ordeal is 250.
Fall Ordeal – October , 2010. Location: - Camp Wisdom. This Ordeal has been changed from two (2) locations to one (1) location.
Winter Ordeal – December 4 - 6, 2009 will be held at Camp Cherokee. The
maximum number of candidates for this ordeal is 250. In the "Registration section of our website, Online registration, as well as Print & Pay registration is available now.

II. Filling out the form:
Many sections of this form are “required” and must be filled in. These sections have
a red * next to their name. You will not be able to complete your registration until all sections
are completed. Double check and triple check all of your entries. You are responsible for the
information you supply. We may use the e-maill address, your home address, or the phone
numbers you supply as a method of communicating with you. Be sure they are correct. If you
use a method other than the online form, print your information and be sure we can read
your writing.

III. Paying for your ordeal:
The cost of your ordeal is $45.00. Using the online registration form will require you
to pay by credit card. If you prefer to pay by check, print a copy of our PDF Ordeal Registration form.
Complete the form, including medical information and signatures, and mail or hand deliver
your registration to Circle Ten Council. If you prefer to pay by cash, print a copy of our PDF
Ordeal Registration form. Complete the form, including medical information and signatures, and
hand deliver your registration to Circle Ten Council. All registration, whether it is online or by
mail or hand delivered, your registration must be completed two (2) weeks prior to the ordeal you choose.

IV. Medical information:
It is very important that we have your medical information. In fact, your registration
is not complete until the time we have your signed medical information. If you use the online
registration form, you will need to download our “Medical Form,” print a copy, fill out all the
information, sign the form and mail it to Circle Ten Council. If you are a candidate under the
age of 21, you must have a signature from your parent or guardian. If you fail to complete
the medical information, you will not be allowed to take part in the Ordeal Weekend.

V. What to bring:
Bring with you – In a backpack a full canteen, work clothes, work gloves, pocket knife,
rain gear, sleeping bag, ground cloth (cannot share), tent (for Saturday night – can share),
shower kit, towel, swim trunks, and weather appropriate clothing.

VI. What not to bring:
Do not bring – any form of food or candy, sheath knife or any electronic items.

VII. Arriving at your Ordeal:
All candidates must arrive in full Scout uniform and must be at their registered Ordeal
no later than 9:00 pm Friday. Check-in will start around 7:30 pm.

VIII. Departing your Ordeal:
The Ordeal will end Sunday morning around 10:00 am. Make arrangements to leave
camp at this time. Permission for an earlier departure time must be obtained during the Friday
night check-in. You must remain at the Ordeal until dismissal Sunday morning to receive your
membership card and first lodge pocket flap.

IX. It’s time to register:
You came to this page by selecting one of our scheduled Ordeals. At this time, the on-line payment option is only available for the Winter Ordeal @ Camp Cherokee. When you have completed your on-line registration, don’t forget to download your medical form and mail it to Circle Ten Council. Our print & pay PDF is available for all of our Ordeals. Use this form if you wish to pay by cash or check.
