Only FieldTurf's selected components, patented formulation and construction and installation methods allow us to succeed in emulating the best natural grass fields. Cutting corners and reducing the price of components at the expense of performance are not part of the FieldTurf philosophy.
Every FieldTurf customer, whether a Premier League Club or a high school facility, receives the identical FieldTurf system, service and warranty.
An Idea that Changed the Entire Industry
The FieldTurf concept is simple—. The best surface for athletic contests is natural grass. Therefore, synthetic turf should be like grass, not carpeting. FieldTurf's inventors—former athletes and coaches—wanted to develop a synthetic system that offered the beneficial biomechanical properties of natural grass, combined with the best attributes of a durable synthetic system. Such a turf must withstand all weather conditions, be low maintenance and sustain unlimited playing time.
The idea was simple. Looks Like Grass… Feels Like Grass…Plays Like Grass. But the technology to make it happen was not simple at all. After several years of hard work and numerous tests, FieldTurf was born.
Breaking into the Market
In October of 1993, after presenting the new synthetic field product at numerous trade shows, the company sold installations of FieldTurf for use in indoor soccer facilities. Since then, the company has conducted extensive research and development in improving the quality and longevity of FieldTurf for soccer fields.
FIFA Recommendation
In June of 2001, The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) gave its official recommendation to the artificial grass FieldTurf installation at Boston University's Nickerson Field for international competition and domestic league play. It was the first and only certification of an artificial surface in the world, allowing Nickerson Field to be used for all preliminary competition matches for the FIFA World Cup, Olympic Soccer Tournaments and professional league play.
Over the past few years, the quality and performance of FieldTurf’s patented system has resulted in over 1,300 installations in over 40 countries.
