For Supporters

You can make a significant and lasting difference in a child’s life with your philanthropic support of the Division of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery and our Care Centers. Your gifts benefit children everywhere who need the benefits of cutting-edge research into craniofacial conditions.

With federal funding for biomedical research and clinical research precarious at best, philanthropic support is more important than ever. With your help, we can take the best ideas and develop them in the form of new treatments. We also can make our knowledge available to more children.

Mark M. Urata, MD, DDS, director of the Division of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery, is the principal investigator of the International Craniofacial Children’s Fund. This independently funded project headquartered at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles seeks to enable children with severe craniofacial abnormalities from medically-underserved countries to benefit from care they might otherwise be unable to receive.

In addition, Dr. Urata is co-principal investigator of the Teledentistry/Telecraniofacial Program and the Tulare County eHealth Project, both of which are using state-of-the-art technology to deliver services to underserved populations.
