January 26th, 2008 at the Museum of History and Industry, Seattle, WA

Actor/comedian Will Ferrell made a surprise appearance Saturday night in Seattle at a benefit for the Pacific Northwest Chapter of Cancer for College.

14 students were awarded college scholarships during the evening among them, Will Farrell, a junior at Central Washington University, who survived Lymphoma last year.  But when 20- year- old Mr. Farrell tried to accept his award the Hollywood actor/comedian with the same name approached the podium too, saying, “I’m not in college and I’ve never had cancer, but I’m going to keep the money.”

The hilarious moment happened at the second annual Taste to Educate, a wine tasting benefit that drew a crowd of more than 200 to the Museum of History and Industry, Saturday night January 26th, 2008.   Actor/comedian, Will Ferrell then came clean, telling the crowd he wanted to meet the young man who shared his name and the rest of the young people whom, he said, he admires greatly.

Taste to Educate showcased wines from eleven top Northwest wineries and was hosted by honorary event chair, Chris Figgins, winemaker at renowned Leonetti Cellar.  The honorary chef for the evening was Jason Wilson of Seattle’s Crush Restaurant.
