TCVP Announces First Organizational Partner (December 2006)
The Toledo Community Venture Partners have chosen Diabetes Youth Services as the first partner organization. The TCVP will work with Diabetes Youth Services over the next two years to help improve their organizational capacity.

Update on Diabetes Youth Services Project from the Executive Director (June 2009)
I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and update you on Diabetes Youth Services. I joined DYS as Director of Operations & Development 18 months ago (January 2008). In February, we restructured internally in order to realign and streamline our resources. I now currently serve as Executive Director, allowing Robin Condon to focus exclusively on enhancing and growing our program and service components.

The work done through TCVP project has been instrumental in moving DYS forward. To give you a few highlights of changes and impact:

   ·         The Director of Operations & Development position was created, allowing for many more formal processes and work flows to be instituted and better division and disbursement of responsibilities.

   ·         We instituted an internal process for accepting and recording deposits, as well as reconciling bank statements.

   ·         In January 2008, we installed QuickBooks for non-profits and use it for all budgeting, bookkeeping, reconciliations and tax reporting.

   ·         A formal conflict of interest policy was adopted.

One year ago we moved into our new home at the Diabetes Care Center on the St. Luke’s Campus. We are pleased with our new location and especially the wonderful staff – they have truly made us feel at home.

There are many more changes and enhancements to share. We would love the opportunity for you to see what DYS is up to and experience our signature program in action. We hope to see you soon.

Best regards,
Susan
