Youth in the U.S. have been helping UNICEF improve the lives of their peers around the world with health, education, equality and protection for more than 55 years.
What was started by a Philadelphia youth group and their pastor in 1950 — as a Halloween project called Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF — has now evolved into a nationwide, year-round mobilization of young people engaged as active global citizens on behalf of the world's most disadvantaged children.
Youth, educators and parents continue this tradition of youth action today by learning about and supporting UNICEF — and helping make a critical difference in the lives of millions of children worldwide.
