Sample Integrations

The following examples detail how an organization might use Kintera Connect APIs to integrate, customize or extend.

Call Center
An organization uses Call Center software to manage their call center. Kintera Connect APIs can be used to create a customer service call event and push the call center information into contact records in Kintera's donor management solution.  Another call center example would be the Call Center software automatically pulling the appropriate Donor Management contact record information for an incoming call through a caller identifier, enabling operators to have the most up-to-date Sphere profile information on hand when speaking with the caller.

SMS Messaging
An organization uses an SMS messaging company to enable membership drives and conduct advocacy campaigns. Kintera Connect APIs can be used to capture membership information that can then be stored in Kintera's donor management solution. For advocacy campaigns, actions taken by advocates, such as phone calls and e-mails to legislators, can be stored in the donor management system.

e-Commerce
An organization sells items through an e-store such as Yahoo Store. Kintera Connect APIs can be used to capture purchase information and tax receipt information from the e-store and then store that information in a contact record in Kintera's donor management solution.

Database Synchronization
A university manages their alumni Web site using Kintera's Alumni Center. Using Kintera Connect APIs, every time an alumnus updates their contact record information, the update is automatically made in the university's main administration database.

Unique Web Site Applications
An organization promoting physical activity has an existing sophisticated supporter-facing web application, such as a virtual walking trail program, that cannot be managed using Kintera CMS. Using Kintera Connect APIs, registrations and user activity data from the virtual walking program on the organization's Web site is pushed into Kintera's donor management system, allowing the organization to run reports and manage e-mail campaigns based off of data collected through the Web site.
