Q1: Do Sphere Gadgets cost extra?
Sphere Gadgets are included with Sphere e-Marketing free of charge.
Q2: If I don’t see “Participant HQ Settings” under Add-Ons within the Web Info Checklist, where can I find them?
Please contact Customer Support and Blackbaud Internet Solutions can activate Participant HQ in your account.
Q3: Where does a participant get the gadget from?
Once you activate Sphere Gadgets within Sphere Events, a new tab will appear within the participant’s headquarters, where they can copy the gadget HTML and paste it into the social networking tool of their choice.
Q4: How many gadgets does Blackbaud Internet Solutions currently offer?
Blackbaud Kintera Division currently offers 2 gadgets: Kintera Thon Thermometer reflects a participant’s fundraising totals to date (which can also reflect team fundraising), and Honor Roll displays, which display all donors who have supported a participant.
Q5: Does Blackbaud Internet Solutions plan to offer other gadgets?
Using Sphere's Gadget Toolkit, Blackbaud Internet Solutions plans to allow clients and partners to directly create and implement their own gadgets. There is no limit to the types of gadgets that can be created.
Q6: If I need help developing a custom gadget, can Blackbaud Internet Solutions help?
Blackbaud Internet Solutions has qualified and professional partners who can assist in the development of custom gadgets. Please contact your sales representative and we will refer you to a partner or go to Blackbaud's Partner Directory to find a partner near you.
Q8: Besides the code examples provided in this document, are you going to provide any additional code to kick-start the development of my new gadget?
Blackbaud Internet Solutions is making available its gadget code for Thermometer and Honor Roll. You can download the two flash development files and customize them using Macromedia Flash Professional Version 8, or any version thereafter.
