Voter Registration Program

2008 was an historic year for Democrats both in California and our nation as a whole. This past year saw San Bernardino, Stanislaus, San Diego and Ventura counties change over from red to blue. Sixty-four County Central Committees and Chartered Clubs participated in the Voter Registration Bounty Program to register over 75,000 democrats.

In order to support the thousands of Democratic activists and organizations registering voters around the state, the California Democratic Party offers the Voter Registration  Program.

Only Chartered Democratic Clubs or County Central Committees are qualified to participate in the Chartered Organization Voter Registration Program.  Please read this memo on our current bounty procedures. 

We will pay $3.50 per Democratic registration or a total of $4.00 per registration that includes a phone number or email address or a voter who registers as a Permanent Absentee Voter.

There have been some minor changes to the administration of the program this year so be sure and review the materials carefully.

We also recommend that you read the California Election Codes pertaining to the California Voter Registration.

In order to qualify for the program, the participating chartered Democratic organization must pre-register the first affidavit number series on the Enrollment Form. To pre-register the affidavit numbers of subsequent voter registration cards, each organization must complete and send in the Affidavit Registration Form. Cards with affidavit numbers, which are not pre-registered with the CDP office, do not qualify for Voter Registration Program funds.

To enroll your organization, read through the VR Program Guidelines, then fill out the appropriate forms, following the instructions on the forms. 

Once your enrollment is completed and approved, use the Payment Request Form to submit your voter registration forms for payment.
