Special Olympics New York Athletes Are Representing the USA

Be a Fan of Dignity

Support Our New York athletes at the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games!

In February, the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games will be hosted in Idaho, USA and welcome nearly 3,000 athletes from over 100 countries coming together to showcase their athletic skills and celebrate the true spirit of competition through winter sports. Special Olympics New York is proud to be sending 10 athletes to compete in Snowshoe, Ice Skating, Alpine & Nordic Skiing.

Please take a moment and read the bios of these outstanding citizens and help us to support their efforts by making a secure contribution via their on-line fund raising pages. Your donation of $50, $25, $100 or any amount you choose will help to cover the cost of travel, meals, uniforms and supplies.

With your support, we can continue the Special Olympics mission to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition at the World Winter Games.

Said Frank Delli Carpini of the GabriAnna Star Foundation, “The greatest achievement for every athlete is to compete at the highest level. For Special Olympics athletes that’s the World Games. The GabriAnna Star Foundation is proud to support a mission that focuses on personal achievement and equal opportunity. Through sports the athletes gain a sense of independence, develop collegial identity and are able to contribute to society. The GabriAnna Star Foundation stands behind that 100 percent.” | click here for more|
