DIVAs FY10 Grant Cycle

The Donors InVesting in Arts (DIVAs) Giving Circle, housed at The Montgomery County Community Foundation (MCCF), is comprised of Montgomery County women who seek to enable at-risk youth to have life-changing experiences through the arts.  Each year, the DIVAs giving circle develops guidelines for its giving, evaluates youth/arts grant opportunities, and seeks to identify rising youth-artists through a competitive review process facilitated by MCCF’s professional staff.

FY10 Grant Cycle

This year, the DIVAs are seeking proposals from arts organizations which:

v Provide at-risk middle and/or high school students in

             Montgomery County with transformative experiences

through the arts during the 2009-2010 school year.

v Engage youth in projects that utilize their creativity

and talents to have a meaningful impact on the community.

v Leverage other financial, volunteer/community service,

or in-kind resources to help at-risk youth develop their

skills and knowledge. (Partnerships with other organizations

            are looked upon favorably.)

Grants will be awarded for new initiatives, one-time special projects, or continuation funding, including general operating support.  In Fiscal Year 2010, the DIVAs anticipate making about $20,000 in grants, ranging from $5,000 - $10,000 to each grantee organization.

Application Process

The DIVAs are currently reviewing all proposals for the FY10 grant cycle.  MCCF staff will contact applicants in late May or early June for additional information and/or to schedule a site-visit, if needed.  Applicants selected to be funded will be notified in writing by the end of June.
