DIVAs Information For Nonprofits

The Donors InVesting in Arts (DIVAs) Giving Circle, housed at The Montgomery County Community Foundation (MCCF), is comprised of Montgomery County women who seek to enable at-risk youth to have life-changing experiences through the arts.  Each year, the DIVAs giving circle develops guidelines for its giving, evaluates youth/arts grant opportunities, and seeks to identify rising youth-artists through a competitive review process facilitated by MCCF’s professional staff.

FY09 Fall Grant Opportunity

This fall, the DIVAs grantmaking will support art programs of nonprofit organizations serving at-risk youth in middle and high school. The DIVAs are interested in supporting a wide range of artistic programs, such as music, writing, visual arts, drama, and dance.  The group also strongly encourages programs which leverage other financial, volunteer/community service, or in-kind resources to help at-risk youth develop their skills and knowledge through transformative artistic experiences.

Grants will be awarded for new initiatives, one-time special projects, or continuation funding, including general operating support.  In Fiscal Year 2009, the DIVAs anticipate making about $10,000 in grants, ranging from $2,500 - $5,000 to each grantee organization.
