2009 Community Leadership Fund Grantees serving our most vulnerable neighbors
Last year, the individuals, families, businesses, and other groups who house their funds at the Community Foundation gave over $5.3 million to Montgomery County nonprofits. Most recent grants include $440,000 to nonprofits serving the county’s most vulnerable children, families, and seniors through our three discretionary funds:
The Neighbors In Need Montgomery Fund, MCCF’s new emergency fund, responds to the growing need for food, shelter, and other support for people suffering in the economic downturn. The Sharing Montgomery Fund has a 13-year track record of supporting local nonprofits serving the county’s low-income children, families, and seniors. The Nonprofit Advancement Fund of Montgomery County strengthens the leadership and management of nonprofits, especially small and emerging organizations that serve the county’s diverse communities. We are proud that the grantees of the Neighbors In Need Montgomery Fund, Sharing Montgomery Fund, and Nonprofit Advancement Fund play a vital role in supporting the health and vibrancy of our community.
