Sharing Montgomery Fund

Application Process

MCCF's Sharing Montgomery Fund supports broad charitable needs in Montgomery County, primarily focused on low-income children and families.

Established in 1996, the fund provides support to county nonprofit organizations for new initiatives, one-time special projects that address significant community needs, and projects of excellence, which are already providing vital services in the county. MCCF is particularly interested in and encourages proposals:

w Presenting innovative opportunities to invest in

programs that benefit low-income children and families

          living in Montgomery County

w Addressing the education and training needs of residents

of all ages and ethnic origins throughout the county and

          especially in the UpCounty region

w Leveraging other financial, volunteer/community service,

           or in-kind resources

w Representing collaborative efforts between nonprofits

and/or between nonprofits and government to

           address community needs

In Fiscal Year 2009, the Montgomery County Community Foundation has set a goal of making between $250,000 to $300,000 in grants through the Sharing Montgomery Funds.  The average grant will be $5,000.
