Fees & Agreements

All advised funds are charged an appropriate allocation of direct and indirect expenses attributable to the administration of component funds as well as to further the mission of The Community Foundation to meet the compelling charitable needs of Metropolitan Washington. Those fees are listed below:

w    A 1.1 % management fee from fund balance of each advised fund is required annually.  (For those funds that exceed $3 million in fund balance a sliding fee scale takes effect: 1.1% on the first $3 million, ½% on the next two million, and ¼ % above $5 million).

w    A ½ % fee from fund assets of each advised fund that is invested in the combined investment fund is required annually and forwarded to the investment managers.

w    In cases where the donor requests extraordinary activities, additional charges may be assessed based on the concurrence of both the Community Foundation and the donor.
