During a recent Amnesty International event, actress Salma Hayek unveiled a 40-foot mural honoring hundreds of missing and murdered women in Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua, Mexico. Jewelry Designer Colleen Berg has dazzled many customers with her exquisite and unique jewelry designs. Now her jewelry will be used to raise funds for Amnesty International's Stop the Violence Against Women Campaign. Colleen will be creating unique and meaningful pieces which will be used to raise, in particular for the women of Juarez, Mexico. Amnesty International Reports that since 1993, more than 400 women had been murdered in Juarez in a variety of contexts, possibly a third of which indicated sexual violence. Many of the cases have still not resulted in the perpetrators being brought to justice and doubt remains about the soundness of judicial procedures given allegations of torture.
