VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 

Café 458, our life-stabilization program assists homeless men and women struggling with addiction issues, mental health concerns, and severe physical disabilities to achieve personal goals leading to self-sufficiency. 

  • Weekdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Volunteer opportunities include cooking, serving food, waiting tables, and administrative support.

Café 458 Weekend Brunch is also open to the public as a for-profit restaurant every Sunday for brunch (10 a.m. to 2 p.m). All proceeds earned from the brunch, including tips, go directly to Samaritan House programs. Volunteers are needed as cooks, hosts, cashiers, servers, dishwashers, and bussers to ensure patrons have a great experience.

  • Volunteer opportunities on Sundays: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

The EDGE (Earning Dignity…Gaining Employment), our employment readiness program provides comprehensive daytime support services to homeless men and women in our community who seek full-time, permanent employment.

  • Weekdays 6:30a.m. to 8:30a.m. - Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve breakfast. 
  • Weekdays 8:30a.m to 11:30a.m. and 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. – Volunteer opportunities include résumé writing, reception desk support, administrative support, facilitating employment-related workshops, performing mock interviews, facility maintenance, computer coaching, and technical support.
  • Saturdays and Sundays 8:00a.m to 10:00a.m. -  Volunteer opportunities include helping cook and serve breakfast, résumé writing, reception desk support, administrative support, facilitating employment-related workshops, performing mock interviews, facility maintenance, computer coaching, and technical support.

Special Committees are developed on a needed basis to help raise awareness about our programs and raise funds to help support those programs. Current committees include:

    • Help to make the Samaritan House Golf Classic a success. The Golf Classic is held every year in June. Committee members meet one time per month. Check out the Golf Classic website for more info.
    • Help get the word out about the great things that Samaritan House of Atlanta is doing for homeless men and women in Atlanta. The committee will meet approximately every other month. 
    • Bring your creativity to help raise funds to support Samaritan House of Atlanta. 
    • Help maximize our resources to help men and women achieve self-sufficiency through our Café 458 and The EDGE programs.
