Welcome to our Volunteer Center!

The Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency utilizes volunteers 6 days a week at Cafe 458 and 5 days a week at CareerWorks. We take great pride in the value of time spent helping us provide services to the homeless and low income men and women in our programs. 

Opportunities are available for individuals, corporate groups, schools, churches and certain court appointed community service. Volunteers must be at least 18 to participate with CareerWorks and Sunday Brunch and at least 14 with adult supervision at Cafe 458 during the week.

Cafe 458, our life stabilazation program assist homeless and low income men and women struggling with addiction issues, mental health concerns and severe physical disabilities to achieve personal goals leading to self sufficiency.

Volunteer opportunities include meal preperation, cooking, serving meals Cafe clean up and administrative support when needed. Opportunities are available Monday-Friday 9:00-1:00.

Cafe 458 Sunday Brunch is open to the public as a for profit restaurant. Each Sunday brunch is served from 10:00am -3:00 pm. All proceeds including tips generated from dining here go directly to the Atlanta Center for Sufficiency programs.

Volunteer opportunities include hostess, servers, dishwashers, table bussers and expeditor.Culinary students or volunteers with restaurant cooking and waiting tables background are always welcome. Opportunities are available Sundays 9:00am-4:00pm.

CareerWorks employment readiness program, provides comprehensive daytime support services to homeless mena and women restart their lives by learning new skills while seeking full time, permanent employment.

Volunteer opportunities include resume writing, reception desk support and administrative assistance, facilitating employment related workshops, performing mock interviews,  computer coaching and clothing closet. Opportunities may vary between 8:30am-4:00pm. Contact Volunteer Services Manager for specific dates and times. 

Special Committees are developed on a needed basis to help raise awareness about our programs and raise funds to help support those programs. For more information about serving on a committee, contact the Volunteer Services Manager. Current committees include:

Marketing & PR Committee: Help get the word out about the great things that ACSS is doing for the homeless men and women in Atlanta. The committee will meet approximately every other month.

Resource Development Committee: Bring your creativity to help raise funds to support ACSS.

Programs Committees: Help maximize our resources to support men and women achieve self sufficiency through our Cafe 458 and CareerWorks programs.
