Social Networks
|
As participants in Train to End Stroke, we know how important our friends, family, colleagues and fellow participants can be in helping us reach our goals. This is also a chance to reconnect with friends and family and to grow your social networks and make new friends who are friends of friends or who see you linked through friends online networks.
How do you get started in tapping into online social networks? Here are some suggestions:
- Sign Up - Create personal pages in networks like MySpace and add yourself to the Groups page. People looking for participants to sponsor can visit here and your friends can see the program you are literally "linked to"!
- Ask Around - Ask your friends what social networking communities they belong to and sign up in those and become a friend.
- Create - Start fun content-creating projects like the journey blog. This provides interesting information regardless of your social networking space. Friends will check back if something interesting is going on. They will also be more likely to support you.
- Share Your Story - Share your story along the way and your support can grow, including gifts toward your fundraising goal, from friends of friends who are inspired!
Once you get started, tell us your social networking links and join the Train to End Stroke Social Networking Communities Directory.
