How your support has helped Dana-Farber Cancer Institute:

On march 3, 2008, Bevacizumab for recurrent malignant gliomas: Efficacy, toxicity, and patterns of recurrence was published by the American Academy of Neurology. This paper is a summary of a study done by Dr. Patrick Wen and his team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This study has attracted a lot of interest and will be a featured presentation at the Neurology meetings in April.

Dr. Patrick Wen was Amos' neuro-oncologist. During the course of his treatment, Amos was the first person treated with Avastin at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The support of the Amos E. Wasgatt Brain Tumor Research Fund is acknowledged in the paper.

It is with your support of the Amos E. Wasgatt, III Memorial Golf Tournament that we are able to help the doctors and nurses at Dana-Farber discover new treatments and provide hope for patients and families affected by brain tumors.
