Student Power! Action CampStudent Power! Action Camp

Be part of something fun, unique, exciting, and empowering! Apply to participate in AIUSA's first ever Student Power! Action Camp. The action camp is scheduled for January 27-29, 2006, in Accokeek, MD at Hard Bargain Farm, outside of Washington, DC. The Camp will bring together the best organizing minds and most dedicated Amnesty youth activists for a three-day strategy meeting.

Students and youth make up the majority of Amnesty International activists but are only a very small proportion of our dues-paying membership. Being a member of AI gives young activists a voice in the decisions affecting the future of the organization. Members write and vote on resolutions that determine AI policies and priorities. At the Student Power! Action Camp you will have an opportunity to develop a concrete plan to bring more student and youth members into the human rights movement.

Workshops and sessions will include:

  • Campaign planning
  • Recruitment and retention
  • Communicating Amnesty’s message
  • Working with the media
  • Building diversity in the movement

If you are accepted to the camp, your room, meals, and travel expenses will be covered. Participants must be AIUSA members. Not a member? Join AIUSA. »
