Virginia Borges, MD, MMSc

Dr. Borges is an associate professor, clinician and researcher at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus. She is the director of The Young Women’s Breast Cancer Translational Program, which focuses on treating and understanding breast cancer in young women. Her research focuses on clinical trials with hormonal, targeted and immunotherapies, including developing vaccines and examining possible biologic differences and therapy targets for cancers in young women.

Lu Ann Cahn

Mrs. Cahn is the author ofI Dare Me, a look back on a year that changed everything for her. She is an eight-time Emmy award-winning journalist with NBC10 News in Philadelphia. In 1991, Ms. Cahn made national headlines when she publicly told her story of breast cancer treatment at age 35 after a missed diagnosis. Her 1992 special report “Breast Cancer: My Personal Story” won a national Clarion award and two Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmys.

 

Clifford A. Hudis, MD

Dr. Hudis is chief of the breast cancer medicine service and attending physician at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he is a professor of medicine at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He is the immediate past-president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. His research interests include developing medicines, with a focus on integrating new agents into the treatment plan.

 

Dr. Hudis is a member of LBBC’s Medical Advisory Board.

Rita Nanda, MD

Dr. Nanda specializes in the treatment of breast cancer. She has special interest and expertise in triple-negative, early-onset, hereditary and locally advanced breast cancers. Dr. Nanda’s research interests include identifying novel treatments that will improve outcomes for women with all forms of breast cancer.

Marisa C. Weiss, MD

President and Founder, Breastcancer.org

 

Dr. Weiss is the founder, president and guiding force behind Breastcancer.org. A breast cancer oncologist, Dr. Weiss practices at Lankenau Medical Center, part of the Main Line Health Hospitals of the Thomas Jefferson University Health System in the Philadelphia area. She serves as director of breast radiation oncology and director of breast health outreach. Dr. Weiss has authored four books on breast cancer and breast health. She createdThink Pink, Live Green, a global breast cancer prevention initiative that educates women about lifestyle choices that may increase risk of developing the disease.
