Ontario Education Symposium
CCFC & You – Patient and Family Conference
We look forward to welcoming you at the first annual Patient and Family Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Conference!
This year we have changed the format of our highly successful events and will be offering four education streams depending on your needs. The four streams are:
1. Newly diagnosed patients – if you have recently been diagnosed with IBD this education stream is right for you. In this stream we will tackle topics such as “what is IBD?”, nutrition and the complex world of navigating through finances.
2. Living with IBD – if you have been living with IBD for five or more years, this education stream is right for you. You are well beyond learning about IBD basics so instead we’re going to work through topics such as future approaches to management and therapy, alternative therapies and cancer.
3. Parents – if you have a child or teen who has IBD this stream is for you. Topics for discussion in this stream will focus on helping you and your family, from a focus on nutrition, stress management and a discussion on the transition from pediatric to adult care. For your convenience, a play centre will be available for children 4 years and up.
4. Teens – this interactive and fun session is geared for teens that have been diagnosed with IBD. Engaging learning opportunities will include a “Are you smarter than your GI?” and an interactive discussion about how best to manage IBD at school.
“Please note in order to accurately capture registration data, each participant must be registered separately”
