AmeriCares - Europe

As part of its humanitarian outreach to Europe, AmeriCares has supplied emergency assistance to Chernobyl following radioactive fallout in 1986, the former Yugoslavia under civil strife in 1991, victims of a severe refugee crisis in Chechnya in 1995, victims of civil strive in the Balkans in 1999, and most recently, the flood-stricken Czech Republic in 2002. AmeriCares provides ongoing assistance to Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania and Ukraine.
