UUA

Be an Empowering Congregation

Congratulations and thank you to the UU Fellowship of Durango, CO! They are an Association Sunday Empowering Congregation, meaning that each member donated $50 or more to Association Sunday 2008. This is their second year achieving this honor!

Already, many of the 508 participating congregations have generously contributed to this year?s Association Sunday 2009 and are contenders for being an Empowering Congregation. And you can be one of them!

This year, we will recognize the congregation in each district that contributes the largest total amount donated, as well as the congregation giving the largest gift per member.  Donate, sign-up or learn more about Association Sunday.

Help Service Men and Women

We are close to our goal of sending more than 20,000 guides of readings, prayers, hymns and poems to provide comfort and inspiration to our Armed Service men and women.

Regardless of whether or not you support military action, you have an opportunity to nurture the spirit of men and women serving in our armed forces.

Make a donation today!

UUA President?s Council Stands Up for Climate Action

On October 24, members of the UUA President?s Council stood together in support of 350.org International Day of Climate Action. This was part of a worldwide campaign taking place in over 180 countries.

Why We Do Our Fair Share

Read stories from Unitarian Universalist congregations of all sizes about their commitment to the UUA and how the UUA serves them on local, national and global levels in the latest electronic magazine from the Ohio-Meadville District.

?We are delighted to know that contributing our fair share gives us eligibility for programs and consultation to better meet [our] member?s needs and enhance and strengthen other local congregations like ours. Fair share dollars are also an investment in the future; for they provide help for long-range ?building of the faith.?? ?Revs. Rose Edington and Mel Hoover of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Charleston, WV

The IRA Rollover is set to Expire

As the holiday season approaches, we want to remind you that the 2009 IRA option for donating is set to expire on December 31, 2009.

This option makes it easier for donors (who are over 70 ½ years of age) to contribute up to $100,000 directly from their IRA to their congregation, the UUA or other entities under the UU umbrella. There can be significant tax benefits to taking advantage of this opportunity.

Learn more about this giving option.

Thanks for your continued support.  Wishing you peace and joy!
