helping women advance further and faster up their career ladder 

The YWCA Women's Leadership Initiative empowers women to become effective leaders by providing them with essential skills and strategies that enable them to make valuable contributions as they move up the corporate leadership ladder. Though women make up nearly half of the total U.S. workforce, there is a startling lack of women in leadership positions:      

  • Nationally, only 3% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women*
  • In Northeast Ohio, 0 out of 54 of the highest-paid CEOs are women**
  • Only 3 out of 83 of the highest paid non-CEOs are women**

Research by Catalyst and McKinsey & Co. shows a positive correlation between companies that have a better gender balance at the top and stronger financial returns in their bottom lines. *** 

Through a wide range of programming that includes Boot Camp and Momentum, monthly workshopscorporate consulting and a yearly, one-day leadership conference, the YWCA Women's Leadership Initiative helps advance professional women further and faster up their career ladders.
