early learning center
developing young minds for over 100 years
The early years are when children develop social, emotional, creative and cognitive foundations. The YWCA Early Learning Center prepares children aged six weeks to five years for a lifetime of learning by offering an enriching curriculum that encourages them to grow at their own pace. Staff members work with each child to build a foundation of motor skills, social skills and developmental abilities. Our innovative programming helps foster children's success in school and in life.
-
Our highly trained staff teaches a curriculum that not only meets the Ohio Early Learning Content standards, but goes beyond them.
-
A parent advisory committee meets monthly to discuss the activities of the ELC and how it can continue to serve parents and children in the community.
- Low teacher-child ratios ensure that every child gets individual attention.
Because the ELC is located near downtown Cleveland, it is close to where people work, rather than where they live. The result is a diverse blend of children from different backgrounds, ethnicities and socio-economic statuses -- learning to celebrate and embrace differences.
|
The ELC has recently been awarded 2 out of 3 stars for "Step Up to Quality," Ohio's voluntary rating system for child care programs!
