A Holiday Gift that Warms the Heart

Is that Santa in the sky?

Natural High Assembly at Crawford High

Dear Supporter,

As this year draws to a close I want to thank you for the gifts you have given SMF this year. It amazes me how our tiny San Diego-based nonprofit profoundly impact kids, teachers and parents throughout the United States.  We could not have done it without you.

Although we all have been touched by the feelings of economic uncertainty, I continue to be inspired by stories of individuals who continue to give to others less fortunate—of their time, their money and most of all, their love. In giving to others, I believe we give an important gift to ourselves.  Put best by Mya Angelou, she says "I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver."

May you give this year to whomever and in whatever way you feel led to give.

Best wishes for a wondrous holiday season filled with joy and love.

Blessings,

Michelle Ahearne
Esecutive Director

P.S. A few supporters have suggested we host a community Natural High Run/Walk in the spring to offset our fall gala. We'd like to hear your thoughts. Please take a minute to fill out this short 4 question survey.

Student Testimonial

quote-img   "I felt the advice the athletes gave us in the Natural High 2 video was very inspirational. To me, it was an example of what living drug free is all about. I was looking at where they are in life, and how they have accomplished their dreams without drugs."                  -Marcus, Student

Americans Still Giving

A recent article from Fox News brings a bit of holiday cheer and hope. It seems that despite tough economic times, people are still finding a way to give to charities. "A survey released this week by Federal Way, Wash.-based World Vision indicates that 2008 could actually be a better-than-usual Christmas for the nation's charitable organizations. The article does mention some creative ways people and companies are finding ways to give during these hard times; An example of this, is donating money and/or food to shelters and food kitchens rather than having company Christmas parties. Justin Greeves, senior vice president of Harris Interactive, is quoted as saying, "At a time when people have things and they know that other people don't, Americans' generosity wins out. It feels good to know that this is still the season of kindness and giving. Read full article.

A Holiday Gift that Warms the Heart, Supports SMF, and Gives You a Tax-Deductible Donation

As you plan your year-end contributions, I hope you will consider the Sundt Memorial Foundation and our commitment to inspiring kids to choose their natural high over drugs.

One easy way to do this is by making a donation to SMF in a loved one's name as a gift. You can sponsor-a-school or a state or to receive Natural High 4 or you can make a general contribution. Your support at any level makes a difference and not only will you be ensuring more kids have the opportunity to hear the natural high message, but you will also give a loved one a meaningful gift and receive a tax-write off.  A card and testimonial from a kid who has seen Natural High will be mailed from SMF to your chosen recipient, telling them that a donation has been made in their name.

Visit www.sundtmemorial.org/donate and scroll down to the "How to Donate" section for more information or to give online.

LOOK, its Santa, oh, no wait, its just Elvis

It's a high altitude Natural High.   The Flying Elvi, are a group of skydivers who don Elvis' best digs and free fall to land in Las Vegas, NV.  The group was featured in the movie "Honeymoon in Vegas," and also performs for parties and weddings.  Their natural high comes from a combination of a love for the king and the feel of the wind rushing through their thick, silky black wigs.  To find out more about this rocking group, you can visit their website.

Natural High Assembly at Crawford High

In San Diego, Natural High and Dispatch Magazine teamed up to give the students at Crawford High School a break from the regular school day functions. The morning started with an assembly showing Natural High 3.5 presented by Founder himself, Jon Sundt along with Dennis Martinez, ex-world champion skateboarder now on board with the D.O.P.E. Campaign. Their messages were targeted, powerful, and influential as they challenged the students to make choices absent of drugs and alcohol.

Fast forward a few classes later, Dispatch Magazine continued the awareness with a large lunch time rally handing out prizes, information and quizzing students on their knowledge of Red Ribbon history. Read Full Article.

"Natural High 2 was absolutely excellent. I have been teaching a drug and alcohol prevention unit for the past couple weeks and this by far made the biggest impact."
