Gobble, Gobble

Did you know that the first thanksgiving  in 1621 lasted for three days and included games and food?  Check out the cool new site thanksgivingworld to find recipes, trivia, games, and everything turkey.  Every year, one lucky turkey gets pardoned by the president, or otherwise stays alive, and lives the rest of its days in a cushy home at the zoo in Herndon.  Find out more about Thanksgiving traditions and even read some turkey poetry. Spend some time on this great new site and see if you can figure out what the pilgrims' had as their natural high.

Here's a change of pace, Stephenie Meyer has a Natural High you can do indoors. Author of the hit series and soon to be movie, Twilight, Stephenie takes her Natural High of writing seriously. Its not a big surprise to find out she has a degree in English. Believe it or not, the first of these books was based on a wildly vivid dream she had back in 2003. Aside from dreaming, Meyer considers music to be an inspiration in her life. Her fast fingers help her to do the research on character names as well as the novels' settings. You can check out more on her books, her life, and the upcoming movie by clicking here.

NH4 Showcase- Candace Wiggins

Candace Wiggins has been practicing her natural high, basketball, since she could walk. She has athleticism in her blood. She was born in Baltimore, MD, where her dad played for the Baltimore Orioles.   As a child, Candace?s family moved to San Diego, CA where she attended school and grew up to be an amazing basketball player. Candace won numerous awards in both high school and college, ranging from player of the year, McDonald?s All American, to a gold medal she won as captain of the US Junior National team. She was the only female player in NCAA tourney history to score 40 plus points in multiple games. In addition to that giant feat, she was also a four-time All-American, something fewer than 10 people can claim. Wiggins was drafted as the overall number three pick to the Minnesota Lynx. This past June, she was named Rookie of the Month by the WNBA.
