Create a garden team
Ask friends, colleagues, or community groups to help plan, fundraise and plant the garden.

ü  Ask each volunteer to tell their friends about the garden.
ü  Set an overall garden fundraising goal

Choose a Spot
Locate a public space--local park, school, health care center or green space at a local business. It can be small--around a town flagpole, or big--the whole town green!

ü  Contact the owner of the space -make the hospital administrator, parks director, or business owner your partner in the project.

Plan your Garden
Choose the size of your garden and understand your minimum fundraising commitment. We suggest a garden should have 5 bulbs per square foot. [A 6x10 garden equals 60 square feet and would hold 300 tulips.]  Ideas for ribbon shaped beds or other plantings available0

Pink Tulip Project Mission

100% of funds raised through the Pink Tulip Gardens goes to cancer research grants and awareness programs funded through the Women's Cancer Fund of the Maine Cancer Foundation.

Your Garden Story
Tell people why planting this garden is important to you and your community.  A  fund raising web page is created when you register your garden. You can tell your story and add your own pictures of inspiration.

ü  Create your garden story
ü  Gather photos

Fundraising
Provide the link for your garden to your team. You and your team send emails to friens and family, tell your garden story, and provide the link to your garden page for donations. All donations made through the Pink Tulip website are secure, and an email receipt will be sent to each donor. As each donation is made on your garden page, it will add to the tally to accomplish your fundraising goal.

Many Pink Tulip gardeners have also fundraised by asking community members, schools, businesses and others to directly support the garden by writing a check. Checks should be made payable to Maine Cancer Foundation and mailed to: Pink Tulip Project, c/o Maine Cancer Foundation, PO Box 553, Portland, ME 04112. Your garden name should be included with any checks sent to Maine Cancer Foundation to ensure proper credit to your garden.
