Come out for Home Runs for Heart where Philadelphians step up to the plate to kick-start their commitment to living a healthy life by hitting one out of the ballpark and striking out against heart disease!

The event is held annually by the American Heart Association and the Philadelphia Phillies in honor of Richie Ashburn, the former Hall of Fame Philadelphia Phillies player and broadcaster, who died of a heart attack in 1997.

Quickly becoming one of the region's most highly-anticipated fundraisers, Home Runs for Heart offers a unique opportunity to participants - a chance to take a swing from home plate of a major league ballpark. After batting participants can take a turn at fielding and pose for a souvenir photo. The team, individual man, and individual woman with the most home runs and the most points (based on distance) receive prizes. Committee Co-chair Jason Feuerman said "Home Runs for Heart provides participants an opportunity to engage in a fun-filled, yet meaningful event to raise awareness of heart disease."

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer in the United States and physical inactivity doubles the risk. My Heart My Life is the American Heart Association's national movement that aims to help Americans get moving and reduce their risk by creating a culture of physical activity and health in order to live longer, healthier lives. Through fundraisers like Home Runs for Heart, the American Heart Association supports lifesaving research and educational programs.

Come take 20 swings at the plate and then shag balls in the outfield! Run like a home run derby, the top male, female and team will receive prizes. While you're at the stadium, take a private stadium tour, meet the Phillies Phanatic, look at our silent auction items (signed Philadelphia Phillies memorabilia, and signed Philadelphia Flyers memorabilia), and enjoy the baseball atmosphere!

You won't want to miss out on this opportunity to bat like a Phillie!
