Benefiting the NeoNatal Intensive Care Unit at Akron Children's Hospital
The 5th annual Walk for Babies was a big success.
800-1000 people on 98 different teams blazed a safe path around Lions and through Red Pandas on Sunday morning. Luckily, the weather was beautiful when we climbed up the big hill to reach the paradise gardens at the top of the zoo. Once at the top of the hill, we told war stories, and there was much rejoicing. There were many different tribes, in colorful battle gear. Some were larger than others, but all seemed to be enjoying themselves. The reason for our joy? We were rejoicing the little miracles done in the NICU at Akron Children's Hospital. We had all agreed to have some fun and do some fundraising as a way to Give Back, and we had done a heck of a job. Collectively we raised $64,296 for the NICU at Akron Children's Hospital, which brings our 5 year total to over $250,000! Once this was determined, we descended upon a great feast that not even the bees could keep us from enjoying.
