Walk for Food. Walk for Heat. Walk for Medicine. Walk for Bus Fare. Walk for Rent. Walk for Light.
No matter what – or whom – you walk for, when you walk in the annual Indiana AIDS Walk, you also are supporting crucial care and services for the more than 10,000 Hoosiers with HIV/AIDS.
By walking and soliciting pledges from family, friends, co-workers, employers and others, you contribute to Greg Powers/Direct Emergency Financial Assistance (DEFA) Fund of the Indiana AIDS Fund. DEFA provides funds for emergency shelter, utilities, food, medicine, transportation and other needs of those living with HIV/AIDS.
The Indiana AIDS Fund is a program of The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis, Inc. Contributions to the Indiana AIDS Fund are made through The Health Foundation’s 501(c)(3) and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Federal Tax Identification Number 35-6203550.

While we regret that the Indiana AIDS Walk is scheduled on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, the Indiana AIDS Fund had to take many other scheduling issues into account when planning the 2011 event. Indianapolis’ event calendar is extremely full, as is the schedule for the War Memorial, the traditional site for the Indiana AIDS Walk. After consulting with the city and the Memorial staff, October 8 was determined to be the best date for the Walk. The Indiana AIDS Fund celebrates and supports all religions, creeds, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender and ages, and works to be mindful of its diverse audience at all times.
