2011 RIDE AMERICA

presented by Farmington Bank

Benefiting the Connecticut Sports Foundation
Helping Cancer Patients

Many thanks to all the riders, sponsors, volunteers, Malibu Fitness and our presenting sponsor Farmington Bank for making this year's RIDE AMERICA so successful!

Join us for 2011 RIDE AMERICA!
RIDE AMERICA, the premiere indoor team cycling fundraiser, was founded in 2009 by the Connecticut Sports Foundation (CSF) and is presented by Farmington Bank. RIDE AMERICA has raised more than $125,000 for Connecticut cancer patients and their families! This signature event hosted by CSF helps fund its 24-year tradition of giving, with 93% of all fundraising going towards its unwavering mission: “Helping Cancer Patients.”

Each year over 100 cyclists team up with friends, family, and coworkers in the ride against cancer at Malibu Fitness in Farmington, Connecticut. This year’s event will be held on February 26, 2011 beginning at 9:00 AM. Working as a team participants pedal the equivalent distance of riding across America and back in one day!

Funds raised will support The Connecticut Sports Foundation (CSF).
The donations solicited by last year’s riders provided aid to fund cancer research, and eased the financial burden for many Connecticut cancer patients and their families. The 2010 RIDE AMERICA special grant recipient was Bryon Schiffres and his family. They were an inspiration to all of us and we are thrilled that Bryon's Mom, Linda, has joined the 2011 RIDE AMERICA team.

CSF recently selected Abbie Brouker as this year's RIDE AMERICA special grant recipient. Abbie is 4 years old and was diagnosed with high risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 16 months. She lives in Unionville, Connecticut and undergoes continuing treatment at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Anyone can participate! RIDE AMERICA is an indoor 6-hour team relay... however it doesn’t matter if you have never been on a bike or if you take weekly cycling classes. The spirit and the energy of RIDE AMERICA "is not about the bike"...it is about caring and helping cancer patients while having fun and challenging yourself. You can work as hard (or as little) as you want! Each bike accommodates a team of one or more members and must meet minimum fundraising requirements - $250 for each rider on a team and $500 for solo teams. Spinning bikes will be provided, however cyclists may bring their own bike and trainer. If you do bring your own bike, but need a trainer, one will be provided for you. Please notify Vicky Cirilli (860-874-7742) if a trainer is needed - or - if you have questions regarding this matter. Complimentary food and drinks will be provided by Panera Bread throughout the event.

Malibu Fitness and Panera Bread will host a rider celebration immediately following the event at 3:00 PM.

TAKE THE CHALLENGE. JOIN A TEAM. Make A DIFFERENCE.........while having fun!

IMPORTANT DEADLINE: All participants must be registered by February 19, 2011 and have completed, signed and submitted the RIDE AMERICA Waiver Form.

Offline donations should be made payable to:
