Join our team at the Baltimore Running Festival on October 16. Participants who have the motivation to run, to get fit, lose weight and be part of something special can choose the 5K, team relay, half or full marathon. We will train together with the support of Merritt Athletic Clubs to build up to the big day. In eight weeks we will provide the tools and motivation to get you started and on your way. Beginning August 16 with an optional weigh in, you will have a network of friends to support you and root you on to your goal..... running a 5K race. All we ask is that you set a fundraising goal of at least $150 which will include your entrance fee into the 5K race and other benefits based on fundraising efforts.
Best Buddies ® is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual and development disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development. Best Buddies Maryland serves more than 3,700 participants with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities, in more than 80 schools in Maryland. There are currently 18 Middle School chapters, 52 High School chapters, and 18 College chapters across the state. Experts estimate there to be 20,000 people in Maryland with intellectual disabilities. Currently, we are only able to serve roughly 2 percent of that population.
