Who
Special Olympics Massachusetts (SOMA) provides quality, year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. SOMA provides participants continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, prepare for entry into school and community programs, express courage, experience joy, and share these gifts with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. SOMA is one of the first state affiliates of Special Olympics International, the worldwide organization founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
