On Wednesday, the 22nd of September 2010, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service will begin a bicycle Tour that will take them from Regional Police Headquarters on Maple Grove Road in Cambridge, to Ottawa. The ride will take four days, arriving in Ottawa on Saturday, the 25th of September.
The Ride of Your Life Tour has two purposes. The first is to solicit funds to support the excellent work being done by the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and the second is to raise awareness of the Canadian Police and Peace Officers Memorial in Ottawa. On the last Sunday of September each year, thousands gather at the memorial in Ottawa to commemorate officers from across Canada who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
