Call to Artists
The Human Race Committee is seeking an exceptional piece off artwork created by a local artist to serve as the official artwork for our informational poster, promotional literature and for the t-shirt design for the 31st annual Human Race to be held on May 14, 2011. Artists, please incorporate this year's theme in your artwork: "Walking for Change."

Please submit your artwork to the Volunteer Center located at 1010 Emeline Ave, Bldg. C, Santa Cruz, CA 95060 by September 23. A brief resume submitted with the artwork should include: name, address, phone and email address. The artwork will be selected by the Human Race Committee on September 27th.

The Human Race is a nationwide community fundraising event for nonprofit organizations and schools. The Human Race helpes address the needs of local non-profit agencies, schools, religious, social and arts groups. Many of the participating organizations depend on the Human Race to raise their operating funds for the year. In this economic downturn with its far-reaching budget cuts, it is ever more critical to maintain a lifeline with our non-profits.

The Santa Cruz County Human Race Walkathon and Fun Run took place May 8th, 2010. It began at 2300 Delaware Ave. across from the back entrance to Natural Bridges State Park. The course is approximately 5K and winds along beautiful West Cliff Drive. Shuttles were available for those who get tired.

Participating organizations receive 75-85% of funds raised and the Volunteer Centers of Santa Cruz receives the remaining percentage to coordinate and stage the event.

Join the fun and be the difference in our community. You can donate to support all participating non-profit agencies by clicking on the "General Donation" button above.
Or you can join a participating organization's team or Champion Team by clicking on the "List of Teams" button. You may also wish to find a friend and contribute through their web page.
