Running The Mercedes Half-Marathon to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama
Thank you so much for your interest in this year’s Make-A-Wish Dream Team. We are so excited about this year’s Mercedes Marathon and we hope that you will join us as we “Run for Wishes”, where every step you take is a step closer to making many wishes come true!
The Dream Team will be led by our own personal coach, The Wonderful Danny Haralson. In the coming months, Danny will train us from “couch to half-marathon” and will prepare us for the Mercedes Half-Marathon which is Feb. 14th, 2010. We will also have fun post run social events, dinner, drinks and
get-togethers after many of the runs… always at fun, different locations. You will meet many good friends and will always have such a great time!
We ask each person running to raise $100 for each mile you run, for a total of $1,310 if you are running the Half-Marathon. This money will go towards granting the wishes of the 100+ children here in Alabama that are waiting to have their wish granted. An average cost of a wish is $6,700, so your efforts towards this race will be such a wonderful contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to each child. You may turn in Checks or Cash to our office.
We ask for $100 upfront from you, and this is basically a deposit for us. This $100 goes towards your Fundraising efforts. So after you pay your $100, you will only need to raise $1,210 more!
So by joining the Dream Team & with your $100 deposit you will receive:
• Training by The Wonderful Danny Haralson, Couch to Half-Marathon, which he so graciously does for free
for the Dream Team!!!!
• We will cover your registration fees into The Race for the Cure (10/10), The Vulcan Run (11/7) and the Mercedes Marathon (2/14)!!!
• Running Tech Shirts, Sweatshirts, Hats or more
• Plus… you will have lots of fun, enjoy great post run dinners and social events, meet plenty of great
friends & complete a Half Marathon.
• And best of all you will make many children’s dreams come true = ) This past year The Dream Team granted almost 5 wishes!! And this year, only with your help, we hope to grant many many more!!!
