In fiscal year 2009, 122 new youth in need of care cases opened in Cascade County. That equates to one child entering the system due to abuse and neglect every 3 days. Last year CASA-CAN volunteers served 268 children - the equivalent of the enrollment at Whittier Elementary School.
As a supporter of CASA-CAN, you understand the vital role CASA volunteers play when they speak out for those children who need a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible. Last year the powerful voices of 100 CASA guardians ad litem worked to ensure that the District Court Judge had all the information needed to make an informed decision about what was in the best for the children. In fact volunteers logged 5,632 hours - over 15 hours every day for a year!
By giving to CASA-CAN, you will support trained, committed advocates here at home.
