Join Us To Make Dreams Come True!
Ride & Stride for Wishes is a fantastic, family-friendly event to be held June 14, 2009 at Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie, IL.
We are pleased to offer a Children's Parade, a beautiful 3-mile walk as well as a 10-mile and 35-mile bicycle ride through Chicago's scenic North Shore. We welcome all children to join us for the Parade by decorating their big wheels, strollers, tricycles, bicycles and wheelchairs or even themselves for a special mini-ride through the Old Orchard Shopping Center.
All walkers, riders, supporters and volunteers are invited to celebrate after the ride with a complimentary lunch, music and fun activities. With your support, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois hopes to raise $130,000, enough funds to grant the wishes of over 25 children in Illinois living with life-threatening medical conditions.
Please note the following procedure if there is severe or dangerous weather on the day of the event:
If there is severe weather that threatens the safety of participants, the event will be cancelled and will not be rescheduled. If the event is cancelled, we will update this website accordingly and an e-mail will be sent out to all pre-registered participants and volunteers by 5am the day of the event. For those of you who pre-registered by May 22nd, we will be mailing your t-shirt and goodie bag to you.
